DALLAS- 2D
What I do in my free time- create graphics in illustrator.
love runs DEEP
The sun shines; flowers are blooming; spring has sprung. With all the good weather lately, its hard to not want to be outside. A couple of weekends ago, after a long week of exams, model building, and running- (I ran my first half marathon) my husband and I thought it was a great opportunity to venture out in the city.
Side note: I do not consider myself a Dallasite- yet, even though I grew up in the metropolitan area for the majority of my life. I lived most of my adult life between Lubbock and Chicago, and now that I am back- living in the adult world I have a little more freedom to explore.
Dallas, like most urban cities is comprised of many neighborhoods, each with its own history, character, and redevelopment. Unfortunately, what separates each community are physical barriers such as highways. There are many proposals to help bring gentrification of the communities as one, however, I believe it cannot happen soon enough.
We spent the day in Deep Ellum, a neighborhood known for its underground seen of music, art, and food. The buildings and details range for over many decades of character along with very minimal distinction between the different uses of spaces. It's pretty neat to see the color and liveliness of the structures each individual space contains its own appeal is distinguished by a pop of color, murals, and signage.
