Last week, Michael and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary together. As I may have mentioned in previous posts, marriage is far from easy. Learning to compromise and being a team can be challenging when two people who love each other dearly, yet are very independent. We have made some mistakes and have had quite a few adventures, but none the less I would not want to share these experiences with anyone else.
This year, with the day falling on a Thursday, Michael and I took the day trip to drive down to Waco to visit Magnolia Market - started by Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper. As we walked up the main thoroughfare of the crowded streets, we realized that we happen to be visiting the Silos during the #silobration festival. We weaved through the market of home goods and knick knacks and of course picked up some goodies. When checking out at the register, the lady asked us what brought us to town. Mentioning that it was our wedding anniversary and that we drove in from Dallas for the day, the lady disappeared behind the door and brought out abeautiful surprise- a Magnolia cupcake! Little did we know as tears of happiness and joy filled my eyes, we soon found out that the lady so kind to us was Joanna Gaines' mom!!!
We walked out with our goods, found a spot on the lawn with sweet tea in hand and enjoyed our little treat! We perused the markets and painted some pumpkins slowly making it back to the car to beat the traffic back to Dallas.
For such a quick trip and heart and belly ever so full, I am beyond grateful to be with someone who wants to share the little things in life with me, no matter what challenges we come to face. I am looking forward to the many years to come!
